Abstracts are written summaries of cases that have come before the Honor Council and serve to keep the Rice community informed of the Honor Council’s actions and reasons for their decisions. In order to protect the identity of those accused, all even numbered abstracts use female pronouns and all odd numbered abstracts use male pronouns. Starting with the 2022-2023 school year, all abstracts use gender-neutral they/them pronouns. Abstracts are stored with the year that the suspected violation occurred. Each year, cases concerning work done late in semester may be heard the following semester. These cases can be found in the year corresponding to when the case was received by the Council. Abstracts from years preceding this list are stored in the University Archives in the Woodson Research Center at Fondren Library.
